It's hard for me to say, "I can't believe my baby is 2" because honestly the girl acts like she is 16 and it scares the crap out of me! Let's just say Blakely was excited about her birthday. For about 5 months (and I am not exaggerating) she has talked about how she is going to have a Princess Party and her cousin Amelia is going to have a Dora Party. Every party we have gone to she has been hoping it was hers so when her birthday came around and it was her turn...she was beyond thrilled. I am going to do a little friend party for her but we are waiting for one of her best friends from Canada to come for a visit next week (a birthday party would not be complete without Bella). Hank now has school on Monday's so I decided to throw a little birthday cake and ice cream for some family on Sunday evening. She loved the attention until we were all staring at her singing Happy Birthday and then she got a little shy.
I was so proud of myself for doing exactly what she wanted complete with cheesy Princess balloons and a store bought Tangled cake (well the cake was from a bakery so it was delicious)!
The next day on her actual birthday she rolled in style like a 2 year old should! I let her do what she wanted and wear what she wanted and it was pretty good. We went to the Carl's Jr. Play place with cousins then to the Sweet Tooth Fairy for some sweets, I then let her go to Target and pick out whatever she wanted for her birthday (we ended up with dancing baby doll that is actually quite hysterical and was on CLEARANCE)! We then spent the evening at home just Blakely and I (since Daddy was at school). He was able to come home for dinnner where we opened a few presents.
Her cousins gave her a Tangled dress up and she was beyond thrilled. As you can see in some pics she made me put it on immediately and didn't take it off!
Opening presents naked..it really doesn't get better than that!
Oh how I love my little Blakely. She is my little buddy and keeps me on my toes. Everyday I call my sister with the latest Blakely saga and she says, "that girl does not like to make life easy, everything is an ordeal with her". This is getting a little long so I will be back tomorrow with a few things that make Miss B her spunky self!
