Feeling the need to blog...

So I am feeling the need to blog but I don't really know what to blog about. Yes I have done alot, yes I am staying busy, yes Blakely is the cutest little girl ever, yet I don't feel like I have much to blog about!!!! I am going to blame it on the lack of picture taking, when I don't take pictures I don't think about documenting my events yet I have been to the zoo and farmers market with friends, went on beautiful hikes and walks with Hank, BBQ's with friends, and many more worthy events. OH yeah I remember why I can't remember anything because I have been Sleep training and it has taken away my thoughts for everything else, ha ha!

SLEEP TRAINING, wow this is hard. As you know from my last post Boogie (I may refer to her as this name because that is all Hank and I call her) has been a horrible sleeper. After calling my friend Lindsay who I know gets her kids on some pretty great sleep schedules, she recommended a book called HEALTHY SLEEP HABITS, HAPPY CHILD. She also told me about her success. I tried it (kind of) and after a night was a little nervous so gave up. Then I was at the gym Friday and some ladies started telling me I had to do it, they gave me a little pep talk and told me if I stood strong by Monday I would be done. SO I DID IT! I stood strong, slept in the basement for three nights and did sleep training. She actually did amazing the first couple nights, way better than I thought she would do. I WAS A BELIEVER, ok I still am it just isn't going as perfect as I would have hoped. She is waking up a little more in the nights which I decided I would still feed her if it had been more than 4-5 hours because she is still pretty small and was used to feeding many times in the night before. But here is the real dilema....my child who used to be the dream angel baby during the days is now cranky as all get out. The last couple days she has been so hard? I thought when they got good sleep they were supposed to be in good moods? I don't know what I am doing wrong. My angel baby is gone!!!
Ahh so that is my life, I constantly am stressing about her sleeping and going down for naps and why is she so grumpy, is she tired again. I guess eventually I will get the hang of it! Still reading the book so maybe I will get more answers.

What else have I been up to....Oh yeah I am running a half marathon in 23 days and then the next weekend running a long relay race called the K-100 and I am kind of nervous about it all. I am running the half with two of my great friends Simone and Becka and I know we are going to have a blast, but we started training a little late in the game so are trying to get the runs in as fast as possible. I am actually really glad I decided to do it because it is so fun to sneak away in the evenings and go for runs, Simone and I have some great chats (ok I talk her ear off about who knows what) and to be outside in the beautiful city of Calgary is so refreshing. Oh did I mention Calgary in the summer is amazing!!!!!

Ok so that is a long boring post about who knows what with no pictures, I hope you enjoyed it, if you actually made it through!

I loved that you blogged about this. I'm sure you'll get some great advice from some experienced mothers.

I'm so proud of you for running a half marathon! You are my motivation! I have exercised every day the past three weeks, but am no where near running a half marathon!!

Happy Wednesday!

Babies are hard! Just when you think you have them figured out, they change. And I feel like it's especially hard with your first. You and I are so much alike. I used to worry so much about Cohen's sleep and schedule. I still do with Ivy, but not as much. I don't know what to tell you about Blakely being grouchy this week! I'm sorry!!! Maybe she's just cutting another tooth or not feeling well? Good luck! And good job running a half already. You go, mama!

Amen Sister Pratt!! Maybe it's the fact that she just cut her second tooth that she has been a bit cranky lately.

Emily, you are an amazing and loving mother. Boogie loves you, it obvious by the way she will track you from across the room when you walk in.

And mostly, I love you. I love the way you love our daughter, the way you care for her with such devotion and affection. I am grateful for who you are, and for what you do for our family!!

Keep up the good work Sweetsie!!

Sleeping is a hard one. I have to say I've been pretty lucky in the dept. But I have to second Lindsay. The minute you think you've got them all figured out they change. They're constantly changing. And once they start getting teeth, they're constantly getting teeth for what seems like forever!! Harrison just cut his first 2 teeth in the last month. I know...he's so late! My first baby got teeth at 4 months, and he was 10. They're all so different

P.S. I'm so excited for your races!! I can't wait to hear all about them!
